Pastors Brad & Lisa Makowski

Pastor Brad Makowski grew up in a small farming community in western New York, moved to southern California as a young man and attended Chaffey College and Cal Poly State University.

Pastor Brad majored in Social and Behavioral Science and received his theological training from Bethany Bible College.

He and his wife Lisa have been married for 30 years and have four children. During their 20 years of ministry at New Beginnings they have worked to reconnect people to God through Jesus Christ, to teach them success principles, and to help them be an expression of God's goodness to their family, community and the world.

Pastor Michael & Angel Hanson

Michael is our Executive Pastor and Angel is her husband's Administrative Assistant. Michael and Angel come from a 6,000 member church in Arizona where they were the Executive Pastor/General Manager and Acting Financial Director. They bring a balance of corporate business experience and ministry development and church growth experience to NBCC.

Michael grew up in Portland where he graduated and attended Warner Pacific College before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to earn his degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Their careers have developed their experience in operations, financial analysis, human resources, business/employment law, marketing and business and church development and growth.

Michael and Angel have been married for 18 years and have two children, Haley, age 13 and Joshua, age 4. Their family is very evangelistic and has a burden for the Portland-Metro area to know the truth about Jesus Christ. Michael enjoys downhill skiing, research and writing, and running 10K races and marathons. Angel enjoys bike riding and socializing with friends at Starbucks.

Michael and Angel worked for New Beginnings Christian Center from 1991-1996. In 2007 they again rejoined their good friends and mentors, Pastors Brad and Lisa to assist with administrative responsibilities. In 2009, they returned again and became “permanent fixtures” with their favorite place of worship . . . NBCC.
