I had an opportunity to plant some potatoes in my garden this past week! I had bought the seed potatoes a couple of weeks ago at Lowes and they had already began to sprout so I put them under a bucket in my shed to keep them from “growing” crazy before I could plant them. As I looked at them before I planted them I realized a great spiritual truth! There was life in those seed potatoes, but the life was limited, they needed to be planted!

This is how it works, the sprouts will feed on the seed potato until it uses up all the nourishment within itself and if it is not planted in good soil it ultimately runs out of it’s own ability to sustain itself and dies never reaching it’s potential.

The same is true for a person unplanted in a local church! You can sustain yourself for a while but ultimately to reach your full potential, to develop, to grow and to blossom into all God planned for you, like my potatoes you need to be planted!
